Having a textile product is one of our favorite products. It eliminates the need for costly manufacturing tooling. This may not sound like a huge deal; but saving $15,000-$20,000 + on manufacturing tooling can be the difference in a large marketing campaign when launching your product, so saving that money is huge. With textiles, we work with many inventors / entrepreneurs to provide all of the necessary 2D CAD design layouts, patterns, material selection and physical cut/sew prototypes. Textiles can be tricky, and sometimes requires several tweaks and modifications to get the fine details such as the correct stitch worked out. Most textiles are used on or around the human body, therefore human ergonomics becomes extremely important! We have a great Industrial Design department to visualize and conceptualize the products before we start building them. We call this the planning phase. PRG Prototyping also uses our in house sewing lab to provide the best fabric fabrication. We can work with rugged materials such as cordura nylon, neoprene, rigid plastics, and even organic thin materials. A recent textile product that just went to market was a novel little item called The Swankey. A wine and beverage tote. Check it out here: The Swankey They also have a great you tube video here: Swankey VideoRead More
